S&W Model 296 "5XBHM" .44 Special

Here is a S&W model 296 Air Lite Aluminum and Titanium revolver chambered in the excellent .44Special cartridge.  This cartridge has been around since 1907, and I can see why. If numbers mean anything, it performs big business with low pressures of approx 14,000cup, whereas its big brother the .44mag operates at pressures of approx 40,000cup.

You don't hear much about these, and in their configuration as engineered and produced by S&W they do have sharp recoil and pronounced muzzle flip. In so many words they are a pretty good handful to shoot in such a lightweight gun.

As a mid sized revolver chambered for a major caliber cartridge, it is a five shot lightweight duty sized or even a concealed carry revolver of remarkable useable "horsepower" in a non magnum rated cartridge.

We have applied our Hybraport technology to these particular Air Lite Revolvers a little differently than our usual approach, and have chosen to produce our own custom made solid stainless steel replacement barrel to be used in conjunction with the S&W two piece barrel and shroud assembly.

This has allowed the amazing light weight of 17 ounces to remain virtually unchanged, and yet this approach dramatically tames the recoil to levels that feel like a .38special fired in a heavier gun.  The Hybraport conversion has almost no muzzle flip, and follow up shots, if you ever needed them can be accomplished very quickly.

These are excellent weapons. A joy to carry, serious horsepower, big hole makers, and with the Hybraport conversion, a real pussycat to shoot! All of this in a non magnum cartridge.  Not our recommendation for Big Bears mind you, but for two legged varmints this setup is really hard to beat.

If you ever needed or wanted a Big Hole Maker, this just may be your gun!  We simply call it the 5XBHM.

MOONCLIPS

OK, you asked for it, you got it!  We are now offering Moonclip conversions for your Ruger SP101 in .38 or .357 magnum.  This is a great custom modification for those that want a fast, convenient speed re-load for their awesome SP101.  This precision modification/addition will allow use of moonclips, speed re-loaders, or conventional loading methods.  We use the Moonclips manufactured by TK Custom (the BEST) and include 5 Moonclips with each conversion!    Due to customer demand, we are now including the "Moonsetter" and "De-Mooner" tool with every moonclip conversion at an additional cost of $69.95.  These things will greatly extend the life of your moonclips.

    We can also supply you with additional clips and Moonclip loading/unloading tools.
