Hi Marc, Thanks for the magazine. First time in my life that I've read an article about a custom gun where I could say to myself with pride "I've got one of those". I'm still spotting neat details that you fashioned into the gun. The uniformed thought, with zero eye for detail, will pretty much, just see a Colt 1911. I run into that all the time with Brit double barrels. "Oh a double barrel, My granddad had one of those". Me with a heavy sigh....In your role as a consultant, as well as fine craftsman that brings to mind some interesting setup criteria. Like Brit shotguns, with your guns perhaps a fellow ought to plan less along the lines of price, and concentrate more on a "concept" when it comes to the finished product. Does he want a "jump back Loretta! That's one fancy shooting iron !!!" piece that will attract attention for pistolero's 20 years away, or does he prefer a piece that oozes quality, but ......requires an educated eye? It's a serious, and quite legitimate consideration, but not really about prices is it? DJT 9/13/06

I got my barrel back today and it's great. I know all about "burrs", I
run the metallugical lab for a company that makes those dreaded Powder
Metal Parts, I deal with customers every day on burr issues. I want to
thank you for the work that you've done and the professionalism in the
manner you dealt with me, I do my best to deal with our own customers in
the same way, regardless of how unreasonable they seem to be at times. I
will have a check out in the mail to you sometime next week.

I would like to sincerely thank you for the outstanding craftmanship and precision that you executed so well in the transformation of my Colt Commander. After years of drooling over pictures of custom guns from the likes of Ed Brown, Larry Vickers, Wilson etc...I could not be more pleased with the expert checkering, carry bevel smoothing, and dog gone if the pain in the slide sights don't hit dead on with 230gr bullets.
